To celebrate Thanksgiving this year, MGK’s animal health experts share some fun facts about turkeys, and we reflect on the past year and how far we’ve come thanks to your business and loyalty.
Fun Facts About Turkeys
Impress your friends and family with these at the Thanksgiving table:
- Turkeys (and chickens) have an affinity for the color green.
- Turkeys and chickens can’t swallow, they need gravity to ingest water — that’s why they lift their heads to drink.
- Turkeys and chickens can’t sweat, so they pant to decrease body temperature.
- Turkey hens also grow beards, not just the toms (male turkeys).
- Wild turkeys roost in trees at night.
- Only male turkeys gobble.
- Benjamin Franklin wanted the United States national bird to be the wild turkey, not the bald eagle.

A Year Filled with Gratitude
At MGK, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. Most importantly, we thank you. Without our valued customers, distributors and industry partners, we wouldn’t be the leading pesticide manufacturer that we are.
We’re also thankful that in September the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) welcomed MGK as a strategic partner. By building on the rich history we have with NPMA, we are looking forward to working together to build initiatives that not only support members but help grow the future of the pest management industry.
In March, we announced MGK’s acquisition of the DeBug® products from Agro Logistic Systems, Inc. We’re thankful for this addition to our botanical portfolio and the innovative neem-based technology which is an ideal companion to our organically-compliant crop protection products.
Above all, we’re grateful for our employees who dedicate their time and expertise to continuously push MGK forward. Throughout the year, we’ve made time for team building events to strengthen team bonds and recognize everyone’s hard work. Thank you to Greater Twin Cities United Way for hosting our marketing team as we volunteered at this year’s Action Day 2022, and to Adventureworks for facilitating some outdoor team bonding in Nashville for our animal health team, to name just a few.
From our family to yours, here’s wishing you a joyous and heartfelt holiday filled with your loved ones, an abundance of delicious food, and most importantly – gratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving!
