Siviwe Dlamini’s time as a Research & Development intern at MGK significantly shaped the course of her career. Siviwe quickly discovered her passion for research here, which she had only previously explored in an academic setting.

“Being able to conduct research and apply your findings, which will actually influence how products are being made and designed, is something I definitely want to continue doing throughout my career,” she shared. This revelation drove her to pursue a career focused on research and development.

During her internship, Siviwe took on a notable project: developing a mosquito rearing chamber. This initiative was critical in establishing and revising company protocols. “Having that start-to-finish project ownership helped me stand out in the application process,” she explained. The skills and experiences gained through this project were instrumental in securing her current position.

Siviwe’s internship experience at MGK exposed her to various fields and job types, helping her see how her skills could apply to various industries. This perspective was invaluable when job hunting, allowing her to identify roles that matched her abilities and interests.

She fondly remembers the team lunches and bonding activities that made her feel welcomed from the very beginning. “I felt included within my first day, which is something I hadn’t experienced before,” she shared. Beyond the technical skills and knowledge offered, MGK is pleased to provide interns a supportive and inclusive culture.

At MGK, we are dedicated to creating an environment where interns can learn, thrive and build lasting connections. We are proud to see all of our interns succeed and carry forward the values and skills they developed during their time with us.
